Ministers look into ways of improving tourism studies

The ministers of tourism, Olga Kefalogianni, and education, religion and sports, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, on Thursday discussed ways to improve tourism education and training.

Kefalogianni noted that improving tourism studies and increasing the skills of tourism workers were closely linked to attempts to improve Greece's tourism product, which is a priority goal for the government.

Promoting Greek tourism through new media

Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni told Skai TV on Wednesday that the ministry aims to dynamically promote Greece in foreign markets using new media, such as TikTok and others, while expressing her optimism for the new tourism season.

Referring to 2023, she noted that it was a record year for arrivals and revenues, exceeding the figures of 2019.

Greece sends a clear message of safety abroad

The political leadership of the Ministry of Tourism was engaged in a race to deal with the crisis in the tourism industry on Monday, following the massive fire on the island of Rhodes.

Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni, as well as her deputy, Elena Rapti, arrived on the island on Sunday, in order to help manage the situation.
