Greens suffer at home, as Olympiakos keeps winning

Tired and without a coach, Panathinaikos suffered an ominous home loss to Armani Milano for the Euroleague on Friday, after Olympiakos predictably defeated visiting Gran Canaria in Piraeus on Thursday.

The Reds completed a clean sweep over the five Spanish teams in the Euroleague, seeing off Gran Canaria 98-77 at the Peace and Friendship Stadium.

Olympiakos and Panathinaikos defeated their Turkish visitors at home this week to improve their position on the Euroleague table ahead of a very demanding week for both.

The Reds suffered their third defeat in a row losing 73-72 in Piraeus to Fener that had Greek international Costas Sloukas score 20 points to decide the game in the visitors' favor.

Greens win on the road, Reds come close

Olympiakos pushed CSKA all the way in Moscow before going down to the Euroleague favorite on Thursday, but Panathinaikos edged out Buducnost for a much-needed away win on Friday.

Holding CSKA to below 70 points in Russia came close to the miracle that Olympiakos needed to beat the Moscow giant away, but the details worked in the hosts' favor who eventually beat the Greeks 69-65.

Panathinaikos imposed itself on Olympiakos for the second time in the day to win Game 3 of the Basket League finals with a 73-58 score on Sunday and lead 2-1 in the series.

The Greens require one more win in the best-of-five finals to clinch one more league title, with Game 4 set to take place on Thursday in Piraeus.
