In 2023: Bulgaria exports nearly 70% less electricity
Since the beginning of the year, the export of electricity has decreased by nearly 66 percent, and the production of electricity has shrunk by a fifth compared to the same period last year, according to the data of the Electricity System Operator, BNR reports.
Electricity and gas providers to get price cap compensation
The government will compensate companies electricity and natural gas providers for having to sell the energy at capped prices. The measure is worth between 340 and 350 million euro at the annual level.

Bulgaria's Electricity Exports Gone up by Nearly 200% for a Year
According to data from the Electricity System Operator, by February 3, Bulgaria's electricity exports to neighbouring countries increased by 199.72% for a year.
The increase is mainly due to an increase in exports to Turkey. The current energy balance report shows growth in electricity generation by 12%t, while consumption has gone up by nearly 5%.

Bulgaria's industrial production index rose by 0.6% year-on-year in September but was 1.1% lower compared with August, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) has announced.
