Istanbul's famous Reina nightclub, in which 39 people were killed in an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) attack on Jan. 1, was demolished on May 22.

In a statement, the Istanbul Municipality said some parts of the nightclub had been built against the law.

She travels back to her childhood in Ortaköy, a neighborhood once densely populated by Jews in Istanbul. One could apparently see that she feels the taste, too. This is one of the highlights of the delightful documentary by Deniz Alphan shown at the special screening section of the 36th Istanbul Film Festival this year.

The highly controversial "Seagull" transport hub project on the coast of the Bosphorus in the Kabataş neighborhood is not only designed by an inept architect - it also blocks views of the historic Molla Çelebi Mosque built by the great Ottoman architect Mimar Sinan.

The wife of an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant who attacked a famous Istanbul nightclub at the heart of the city has said the jihadist group took her 4-year-old son to Iran. 

An Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant linked to the attacker of Istanbul's Reina nightclub said he was previously detained and later released by police in Turkey. 

Ilyas Mamasharipov, who ordered the attack, was among those arrested on Jan. 31 for aiding and abetting Reina attacker Abdulkadir Masharipov. 

A meticulous police operation resulted in the apprehension of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant who attacked a famous nightclub at the heart of Istanbul in the early hours of the new year. 

Abdulkadir Masharipov, who killed 39 people in an attack on an Istanbul nightclub on the New Year's eve has been detained in the city's Esenyurt district, sources have confirmed. 

The attacker was caught as his son was near him. 

The attacker has been taken to health check.

Two foreign nationals linked to the deadly attack on an Istanbul nightclub on New Year's Eve were arrested by 
an Istanbul court on Jan.13, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported. 

Two suspects Omar Asim and Abuliezi Abuduhamiti, who are Chinesecitizens, are accused of "being member of an armed terror organization," and"helping 39 times first-degree-murder".
