The western Aegean island of Skopelos suffered a power outage lasting five hours early on Tuesday morning after lightning caused disruptions to the power grid.
The island's mayor, Christos Vasiloudis, told Kathimerini that the power went out at around 4 a.m. and was restored five hours later.

Island of Hydra without power or water
The Greek holiday island of Hydra, a one-hour ferry ride from the capital's port of Piraeus, has been without power since the early hours of Saturday and on Sunday started experiencing water shortages as many of its pumps rely on electricity.
The problem started with a power outage at 5.30 a.m. on Saturday, according to the island's mayor.

Five islands left in dark from short circuit at power station
The Aegean islands of Paros, Naxos, Ios, Sikinos and Folegandros were left without electricity on Wednesday after a short circuit resulted in damage to the wider region's central power station on Paros.
According to the Public Power Corporation (PPC), the outage occurred at 10.50 a.m. while it said power was expected to be restored later on Wednesday.
