Erdo?an, 16 Turkish warriors join solemn welcoming ceremony for Aliyev

Back by popular demand following their welcome for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, warriors supposedly representing ?the 16 Great Turkish Empires? returned on Jan. 15, indicating their intent to figure prominently from now on in all official ceremonies at Turkey?s flamboyant new presidential palace.

Actors dressed in the military costumes of 16 states founded throughout history by Turks staged a dress show as Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met with his counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdo?an in Ankara Turkey?s new presidential palace witnessed a "dress show" during a welcoming ceremony for a visiting head of state for the first time on Jan. 12.

Putin to seal new post-Soviet union with Belarus, Kazakhstan

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday arrived in the Kazakh capital where he was set to sign a deal with his Kazakh and Belarussian counterparts creating a new economic union championed by Moscow.
      
Putin, Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko and Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev were due to sign the document in Astana following talks on Thursday.
