The newly elected President of the 45th National Assembly, Iva Miteva, is a member of There is Such a People PG and became an MP elected from the list of the 23rd multi-member constituency in Sofia.

Sandu wants to seize the momentum following her presidential win to secure a parliament more aligned with her pro-European outlook. The assembly is currently controlled by Dodon's Socialists and their allies, who have balked at Sandu's two picks for prime minister.

Voters in Kosovo will go to the polling stations in February 14 to elect a new parliament with - as in past elections - the candidates running for the post of Prime Minister in the spotlight.

The reason for that, as he states, is the open issue of quorum at the session at which those laws were adopted, as well as the legal issue of the mandate of the two deputies.

According to the new amendment

Bulgaria's Parliament failed on August 13 to secure the necessary quorum to hold an extraordinary sitting. The MPs from the ruling coalition partners, GERB and the United Patriots, were not present.

Parliament's meeting for the investiture of the Orban Government II was closed on Monday by Speaker of the Deputies' Chamber Marcel Ciolacu, the Social Democratic Party (PSD) interim Chairman, who announced that there was no quorum to carry out the works. The Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies announced that out of 456 MPs, only 188 registered their presence.

The Government adopted the Emergency Ordinance (OUG) regarding the organisation of early parliamentary elections, a normative act which stipulates, among others, three days of voting in the Diaspora and the possibility to vote at any polling station.
