Parnassos

Just 170 kilometers from Athens, Parnassos is a majestic escape that can be reached in under two hours, making it the perfect destination for a day of adventure. Cretan music expert Giorgos Xylouris, a master of the lute and accomplished singer, has been collaborating with drummer Jim White, co-founder of Australian rock band Dirty Three, on a project dubbed Xylouris White since 2013.

Brazil-born, Berlin-based pianist, singer and composer Dillon (Dominique Dillon de Byington) is making her Greek debut at the Parnassos Literary Society on Wednesday, October 9.

Ambassadors and other members of the diplomatic missions of Austria, China, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Moldova, Montenegro, the Palestinian Authority, Romania and Ukraine will perform a charity concert in aid of the SOS Children's Villages at the Parnassos Literary Society on Wednesday, April 10.

The Tatoi Friends Association is holding is sixth annual opera gala, raising funds for conservation work at the former royal estate north of Athens. The main destination of funds from this year's event will go toward the restoration of the estate's dilapidated winery, which is one of the oldest buildings on the property.

The once-quiet village where people stopped to buy folk art before reaching Delphi, is now the winter equivalent of Mykonos.
