Piraeus bus routes altered due to metro station works
Bus routes in Piraeus were expected to be altered beginning on Friday due to works carried out at the city's metro station, it was announced Thursday.
For more information on the upcoming bus route changes, members of the public were invited to visit www.oasa.gr.
Terror group link prompts police raids and arrests
Police found a Kalashnikov assault rifle, a handgun, a hand grenade and numerous bullets Wednesday while searching homes in Athens and Thessaloniki used by six people who were detained and are linked to bank robberies and possibly terrorist activity.

Korydallos Prison inmate found hanged in cell
A 25-year-old inmate of Korydallos Prison near Piraeus was found dead on Friday in what is being treated as a suicide.
Prison guards found the young man hanged in a disciplinary cell of Block A of the penitentiary, with bedsheet wrapped around his neck.
He had been serving a 13-year sentence for drug- and organized crime-related offenses.

Fyssas rally demonstrators face prosecutor after clashes
Sixty-four people arrested in Keratsini, a suburb of Piraeus, on Thursday, following clashes with police during an anti-racist march marking the one-year anniversary of the murder of rapper Pavlos Fyssas by self-professed Golden Dawn member Giorgos Roupakias, appeared in a Piraeus court on Friday on charges of disturbing the peace, damaging public property and possessing explosives.
Third suspect remanded in custody over soccer fan attack
A 32-year-old man was remanded in custody Friday after facing a prosecutor on charges of attempted manslaughter after a 46-year-old soccer fan suffered serious head injuries in violent clashes between supporters of third-division club Irodotos and Ethnikos Piraeus in Nea Alikarnassos, in Iraklio, Crete, last Sunday.
Keratsini marks one year from Pavlos Fyssas murder
Dozens of people gathered in Keratsini, a suburb of Piraeus, on Thursday, to participate in a series of events marking one year from the murder of 34-year-old leftist rapper Pavlos Fyssas, known as Killah P, by self-professed Golden Dawn member Giorgos Roupakias.
Fyssas died after being stabbed by Roupakias on the street, following an altercation in a local cafeteria.

Maziotis claims responsibility for April bomb at central Athens bank
Nikos Maziotis, the Revolutionary Struggle leader who was arrested this summer, claimed responsibility on Saturday for a large explosion at the Bank of Greeces offices in central Athens on April 10.
