Piraeus continues to lead realty rate rise
Piraeus continues to show the largest increase in the asking prices for sale and rent of houses in the second quarter of the year, according to the Spitogatos Property Index (SPI) of the online classifieds network Spitogatos.gr.

Briton found dead in Spetses
A 44-year-old British national was found dead at the old port of Spetses on Friday morning, state-run news agency AMNA reported.
Authorities said he had sustained injuries on the left side of his head and an autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death. His body will be transferred to Piraeus this afternoon.

Explora I cruise liner makes maiden call at Piraeus port
Piraeus Port welcomed on Thursday the Explora I cruise liner on her maiden call marking the ship's debut in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The vessel is the first of a fleet of six for the luxury ocean travel brand of the MSC Group. The maritime tradition of a crest exchange to celebrate a ship's first visit to a destination took place during this maiden call.
Yacht passengers charged with arson in Hydra fire case
Greek prosecutors have charged eight adult Kazakh passengers aboard a privately chartered yacht with complicity in arson for a fire on the Saronic island of Hydra last week. Two minors among them are not facing charges.
Greek authorities have sought assistance from Kazakhstan, as the yacht's renters left Greece without being questioned by authorities.

Inmate killed in fight in capital’s Korydallos Prison
An inmate was reportedly killed and another injured in a violent brawl involving knives or some other similar weapon in the Greek capital's Korydallos Prison on Wednesday.
According to initial reports, the inmate who was killed has been identified as a 35-year-old Albanian national. The injured man is said to be from Kosovo and was rushed to hospital with a stab wound on the back.
