Plug-in electric vehicles in Hong Kong

China's meteoric rise as the world's powerhouse of electric vehicle production makes Western efforts to curb their exports a tough sell and means they could even stifle the fight against climate change, analysts warn.

Turkish consumers want to have made-in-Europe, long-range and fast-charging electric vehicles, a survey has shown.

Türkiye's EV market has been expanding fast, with the number of such vehicles on the country's roads soaring more than 3,000 percent over the past year from around 33,000 to 131,217.

Some 20 carmakers sell 40 models of EVs in the Turkish market.

With more than 60,000 electric vehicles sold this year and sales leaping nearly 870 percent, Türkiye is presently ranking eighth largest market for EVs in Europe.
