A plenary session of the European Parliament in Brussels voted on Thursday to lift the immunity of Greek MEP Alexis Georgoulis who has been accused of rape and sexual abuse.

MİT ‘neutralizes’ senior PKK member in Iraq’s north
The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has neutralized the PKK/KCK's communication chief during an operation in northern Iraq.
Emre Şahin, code-named Rodi, was found to write the programs used by the organization's communication system, including him in the list of "critical targets to be neutralized."

SYRIZA turmoil as senior MP resigns
Main opposition SYRIZA was plunged into turmoil almost on the eve of elections after the announcement that one of its senior MPs, Giorgos Katrougalos, would not be running following the backlash sparked by his comments in a TV interview on Wednesday that the party planned, if it were elected, to link insurance contributions to income level for both wage earners and freelancers.

Main opposition party SYRIZA announced on Thursday that MP George Katrougalos would not be running in national elections on Sunday, following statements he made in a television interview.

European Parliament to examine request to lift Georgoulis’ immunity
The request for the the lifting of the immunity of former SYRIZA MEP Alexis Georgoulis, who has been accused of rape and sexual abuse, will be examined during an extraordinary meeting of the European Parliament's Legal Affairs Committee (JURI) next Tuesday, May 23.
At the same extraordinary JURI meeting, the request for waiver of immunity of MEP Maria Spyraki will also be examined.
MİT ‘neutralizes’ senior PKK member in Syria
The National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has neutralized the PKK/YPG's finance leader during an operation in Ayn al-Arab district in northern Syria.
Tuba Karakoç, who joined the organization in 2013, has been active in many fields in Türkiye, Iraq and Syria.
