Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who was on a one-day working visit to Rome on Tuesday, met with Italian President Sergio Mattarella.

According to Tanjug, Mattarella "noted Serbia was a leader in terms of regional stability."

"That is why your entry to the EU is very significant," Mattarella said during a meeting with Vucic.

Opening negotiation chapters is vital to revive ties between Turkey and the European Union, Turkey's EU Minister Ömer Çelik has said just a day before a Turkey-EU political dialogue meeting is set to take place in Brussels following months-long tension between the two sides.

The leader of the Italian anti-immigrant and anti-european party "Northern League" Matteo Salvini said the only response to immigration should be to block rescue ships and shut down Italian ports, the French press reported.

BELGRADE - The European Union expects the Community of Serb Municipalities to be formed as soon as possible, says Maja Kocijancic, spokesperson to EU foreign policy and security chief Federica Mogherini.

BRUSSELS - All those present at Wednesday's informal dinner hosted in Brussels by EU foreign policy and security chief Federica Mogherini for Western Balkan PMs "confirmed their full commitment to continue working for the European Union integration process, as confirmed by the EU at the March 2017 European Council," said a statement on Mogherini's official website.

I didn't have much of an appetite, but everything else was good, Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday, about an informal dinner in Brussels the night before.

The gathering was organized by EU's Federica Mogherini and brought together six Western Balkans prime ministers.
