Over the next 24 hours, the weather will continue to become more complicated. During the night snowfall will increase and the snow cover will increase. A moderate and temporarily strong northeast wind will continue to breathe cold air. There will be snow blizzards and winds will form. The minimum temperatures will be between minus 5 and 0 degrees, according to the NIMH - BAS forecast.

Nearly 440 snow removal machines are clearing the national roads in areas where it is snowing to ensure safe travel in winter conditions, said the press office of the Road Infrastructure Agency. 

Moderate, sometimes strong northeastern wind will bring further cold air in the country today. The meteorologists forecast snow, in the Upper Thracian Plain rain transitioning into snow amid decreasing temperatures. Only in the remote southwestern regions, it will continue raining.

Bucharest and other 14 counties will be under code orange of heavy snowfall on Thursday night, while 16 counties will be under the code yellow of abundant snowfall starting Thursday afternoon, according to warnings issued Wednesday by the National Weather Administration (ANM).

Today the wind from south-southwest will increase and will remain strong for some time in the eastern half of the country and on the northern mountain slopes. Already before noon, however, the wind will blow from east in the eastern regions and from northeast in Northern Bulgaria.

Morning temperatures on Wednesday will range from minus 4 to 0 degrees Celsius, while daily highs will range from minus 1 in the north, to five degrees in the south of Serbia.

Belgrade will see intermittent snow, with temperatures ranging between minus 2 and 0 degrees.

In Stara Zagora last night was minus 21 degrees, but we are far from the record. The Black Sea was minus 7 and minus 8 degrees, and now with the sunny weather that awaits us today, there will be a big difference between night and day temperatures.

 The snow is expected to stop later in the day, in the northeastern regions last, clouds will start clearing from southwest. There will be moderate to strong wind from the north-northwest. It will remain cold, with maximum temperatures between minus 7°C and minus 2°C, slightly higher in the far southwest and southeastern areas, in Sofia - about minus 3°C.

Precipitation will continue today and there will be snow over the whole country. More significant will be in Western Bulgaria. Snow cover is expected to form. The maximum temperatures in the country will reach minus 2-3 degrees, in Sofia - about minus 1 degree.
