Türkiye is set to commemorate Victory Day on Aug. 30, marking the pivotal military triumph that concluded the Turkish War of Independence, with various official ceremonies and events across all provinces.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his delegation marked the historic occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic by paying a visit to Anıtkabir, the mausoleum of modern Türkiye founder Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

The nation is commemorating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic with enthusiasm, gratitude and profound pride, with numerous events, festivals and marches honoring both Türkiye's founding leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the century-old country since the beginning of the week of Oct. 29.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has expressed his desire to liberate Türkiye from its current constitution, which he claims is a remnant of a coup d'état, and underlined the need for a civilian, libertarian and inclusive constitution that will be embraced by all segments of Turkish society.

While individuals may not necessarily have a decisive role in shaping and exercising a state's politics, in the case of Turkey, due to poor institutions and the overconcentration of power in the Ak Saray, or the White Palace, Recep Tayyip Erdogan wields significant influence in foreign policy.

Türkiye is commemorating the sixth anniversary of the July 15 thwarted coup across the country with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and other senior government officials attending events in Ankara and Istanbul.

Turkey's National Security Council on Jan. 27 called for de-escalation of tensions between Russia and Ukraine.

The National Security Council (NSC) convened under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex.

'The escalation is not in the interest of anyone,' Erdoğan said in a statement, following the meeting. 

Turkey will soon be counted among the world's top-tier countries, both politically and economically, the country's president said on July 12. 

Turkey's president hailed public housing projects in the country at an event on July 7 where he presented the key for the millionth public home to its new owners.

Turkey's next target in gymnastics is to bag gold medals in the Olympics, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said while addressing gymnasts who bagged medals in various championships this year.

"We are raising the bar. After the Balkan, European and World Championships, now it is time for the Olympics," Erdoğan said.
