Prime Minister Boyko Borissov will hold a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia Zoran Zaev, who is visiting Sofia on February 4th, reported the Bulgarian National Radio. 

They will discuss the development of cooperation in various sectors, infrastructure and transport projects and the implementation of the Friendship, Neighborhood and Cooperation Treaty.

About a month since his escape from serving a jail sentence in Macedonia, Hungarian news site 24.hu captured a short video footage of Nikola Gruevski in a restaurant in one of the wealthiest districts in Budapest.

After the Macedonian Interior Ministry said former prime minister Nikola Gruevski had fled to Hungary and was applying for political asylum there, an EU spokesperson told BIRN that Brussels was following events and hoped the case would not be politicised.

A judge who sentenced the former prime minister of Macedonia, Nikola Gruevski, to two years in jail last month has been under 24-hour police protection for the past two weeks due to threats made against her, Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski said on Friday.

There was a sense Tuesday that Athens and Skopje were inching toward a deal on the ongoing "Macedonia" name dispute despite domestic opposition in both countries, with several protest rallies planned for Greece Wednesday.

The prime minister of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM), Zoran Zaev, appeared confident on Thursday of a breakthrough in talks with Greece regarding the former's name.

The prime minister of Macedonia has also urged all those who have the resources to invest in the production of cannabis, "because it is profitable."

He pointed out that "ethics and law in Macedonia" allow the cultivation of cannabis for medical purposes, and that eight licenses have been issued so far, while another "four or five" are under review.
