Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has said he is ready to abandon his office "with pleasure" in the event that the Turkish people vote in favor of constitutional amendments that usher in an executive system that abolishes the position of prime minister. 

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has criticized a social media campaign regarding the votes on the upcoming charter change referendum. 

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has withdrawn the draft bill which stipulated that a prison sentence for rapists can be repealed if they marry their underage victims.

The reasons for the withdrawal were protests in the country and disapproval of the draft bill abroad.

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım will pay a visit to Russia on Dec 5 and 6 to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dimitry Medvedev, sources have told daily Hürriyet.

Korkut Özal, who served as a minister in Turkey in the 1970s and later as an MP, died aged 87 of respiratory and circulatory failure on Nov. 1, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Özal, who was also the brother of the 8th President of Turkey, Turgut Özal, was born in the eastern province of Malatya in 1929.

His funeral ceremony will be held on Nov. 4 in Istanbul. 

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has lashed out at banks for making "speculative gains" through high interest rates, saying they should "have more conscience."

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım has paid a surprise and unscheduled visit to former President Abdullah Gül in the Maslak area of Istanbul. 

Yıldırım and Gül held a meeting in the latter's office for an hour on Oct. 10. The visit was a "courtesy visit," according to Anadolu Agency. 

Education Minister İsmet Yılmaz accompanied Yıldırım on the visit.

Former Turkish Prime Minister and President Süleyman Demirel, who passed away at the age of 90 early on June 17, will be laid to rest in his hometown of ?slamköy in Turkey's south after a state ceremony in the capital on June 19.
