Last Glou store closes

The final chapter on the 34-year story of the Glou retail chain closed on Saturday, as the last store of the men's apparel company shut down in Piraeus, a few year's after the company went officially bankrupt.
At its peak Glou operated 67 stores, plus six Puma stores (the sportswear company's partner in Greece from 1994 to 2010), four Quicksilver stores and two Reporter outlets.

Accident over Aegean narrowly averted

An accident was narrowly averted on Friday after a Turkish F-16 fighter jet reportedly harassed a Greek Super Puma helicopter, according to reports that emerged on Saturday.

The incident occurred shortly before noon south of the eastern Aegean islet of Farmakonisi as the Super Puma conducted a search for a boat carrying illegal migrants.

Woman injured by rock on Mount Olympus

A 35-year-old woman was injured on her neck on Monday when a rock fell on her during a hiking trip near the peak of Mount Olympus.

According to the head of the Greek Rescue Team, Alexis Liamos, the woman, a Greek national, was taken to the "Apostolidis" mountain refuge.

A Super Puma helicopter is on its way to transfer her to hospital.
