The military pilot Valentin Terziev, who died during exercise with his MiG-29 fighter, was posthumously promoted to the rank of "lieutenant colonel", Ministry of Defense announced.

By order of the Minister. Terziev was awarded the Order of St. George First Degree for officers.

Foreign Minister Svetlan Stoev received Tuesday Cardinal Marcello Semeraro of the Vatican to discuss with him bilateral relations and their activation in recent years, the Foreign Ministry said. 

Stoev welcomed the Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of  Saints to Bulgaria, underscoring the shared values based on
faith, humanism, justice and mercy.

Arriving in Brussels for the NATO Summit on Monday, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said that unity among the NATO member states is a key factor for their security.
