Rain will fall across most of Bulgaria on Tuesday, predominantly in the country's southeast, the national weather service says.

Temperatures will be lower for most of the country, but will not fall as much as they did during the cold snap of January.

There will be intermittent snowfall and rainfall over Bulgaria over the course of a week, the head of the country's weather service has said.

A new wave of cold weather is expected to strike Greece, especially on Friday. According to the weather forecast Thursday it will be cloudy with local rains and thunderstorms. The phenomenon will start from west and south as well as the eastern islands and it will gradually expand to the rest of the country.

A cold snap begins in Bulgaria on Monday, with temperatures expected to fall throughout next week, with snow expected to fall in some mountains, the national weather service says.

Forecasts for Sunday indicate thermometers will still hit 25-30 degrees Celsius, values high enough for the winter, or 23-27 degrees by the seaside.

Rain and even storms are expexted on Monday to dampen the summer days of September in Greece, though temperatures will remain high. Wind velocity will reach 7 on the Beaufort scale. Scattered clouds will turn to scattered rain and possibly storms in the northern parts of the country with temperatures ranging between 18C and 29C.
