Republicanism in the United States

The presidential race in the United States has come down to this, a brutal match between two political groups: the Democratic Party, currently in power, and the Make America Great Again group, still quaintly called the Republican Party. 

Kamala Harris was due to accept the nomination of the Democratic Party in Chicago last night, becoming Donald Trump's official rival for the presidency.

Those with any interest in American elections should pay particular attention to our 2024 presidential election. It is shaping up to be different than 70% of post-WWII elections in our two-party democratic system. Our elections usually present a choice between the presidential nominee of the Democratic Party and the nominee of the Republican Party.
