Serbian students win Physics Olympiad medals

BELGRADE -- Five Serbian high school students that took part in the 45th International Physics Olympiad have won four medals and a commendation, it has been announced.

Uroš Ristivojević, who attends the Mathematical Gymnasium in Belgrade, won a silver, while Mihailo Đorđević and Luka Bojović, from the same school, returned home with bronze medals.

Jovan Jovanović, from Belgrade's 13th Gymnasium, also won a bronze.

Janko Šušteršič, who attends the 1st Gymnasium in Kragujevac, received a commendation.

The competition was held July 13-21 in Astana, Kazakhstan, and saw participation of students from more than 100 countries.

The Mathematical Gymnasium announced the Serbia team results in a statement signed by Director Srđan Ognjanović, and added that the students would return home on Tuesday.

Their success comes after young Serbian mathematicians won six medals at the Mathematical Olympiad earlier this month.
