Heavy snowfall and harsh winter weather conditions are continuing to adversely affect Turkey, with more heavy snowfall leading to the closure of many roads across the eastern provinces of Rize and Erzurum on April 12.
In the eastern part of the Black Sea region, roads and highways were closed due to heavy snow.

Two detained over Fenerbahçe bus attack
Two suspects were detained early April 7 over an armed attack on Fenerbahçe?s team bus, Trabzon?s governor has announced.
Trabzon Gov. Abdil Celil Öz said the suspects, N.S. and E.A., were apprehended in the Sürmene district of Trabzon.

Birdwatchers flock to Rize to photograph glaucous gull, not seen in Turkey for 140 years
Birdwatchers wanting to photograph the glaucous gull have been flocking to the Black Sea province of Rize, as the species has not been seen in Turkey for 140 years.
Photographer Murat Saltık, who spotted the reappearance of the glaucous gull, said he had been birdwatching for years without noticing its difference with the other species.
Worker killed after collapse during tunnel construction in Rize
