Court awards Greek children’s charity custody of Maria
A court in Larissa, central Greece, ordered on Saturday that the childrens charity Smile of the Child should have custody of Maria, a five-year-old girl found at a Roma camp in nearby Farsala last October.

Bulgarian, Romanian Workers' Number in UK Down in Q1
Some 3000 fewer workers from Bulgaria and Romania are presently in the United Kingdom than in end-2013, the country's Office of National Statistics has revealed.
These numbers suggest a decrease compared to the period before lifting restrictions at the end of last year, when a seven-year EU transitional period for the two countries expired.
Bulgarian Govt to Employ Young Roma as Integration Consultants
Bulgaria's Ministerial Council is planning to employ young Roma citizens to work as consultants for the National Roma Integration Strategy.
The National Roma Integration Strategy was ratified by the previous Bulgarian government, and falls within the auspices of the National Council for Cooperation on Ethnic and Integration Issues.

Nikolic: Position of Serbia's Roma must be strengthened
Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic spoke to representatives of the Roma ethnic community in Serbia on Tuesday on occasion of April 8, the International Roma Day, and stressed that the position of Serbia's Roma must be strengthened.
The state must make it possible for the Roma to exercise their rights and preserve their own identity, Nikolic said.
International Roma Day to be Marked in Bulgaria
Bulgarian Roma across the country celebrate April 8, the International Roma Day.
The International Day of the Roma is a day of celebration of Roma culture, history and traditions. The Day also draws attention to discrimination directed to their communities globally and calls for all human rights to be respected and observed.

Roma still most discriminated against group in Serbia
BELGRADE - Much has been done over the past years to improve the position of the Roma, who, however, continue to face prominent discrimination in employment, education, health care and housing, Commissioner for Protection of Equality Nevena Petrusic said on Monday.
