A quarter of all young people in Bulgaria entering the labor market come from the Roma community, according to Dr. Elena Kabakchieva of Health and Social Development Foundation.

Bulgaria to Provide New Social Housing for Roma Population
Bulgaria's Ministry of Investment Planning is considering new standards for the construction of social housing for the Roma population in the country.
The standards should provide a minimum of 7.5 sq.m. living area per household member, Minister of Investment Planning Ivan Danov announced, cited by BGNES.
Romania Gypsy King Bans Child Marriages
Dorin Cioaba, the self-proclaimed King of the Gypsies in Romania, says he is ready to take on the controverial tradition of marriages in the low teens.
The 43-year-old graduate in law has said that Roma should not get married until they are at least 16.

Greek court questions where would be best for ‘Maria’
A court in Larissa, central Greece, on Tuesday questioned the Bulgarian Embassys second secretary, Lubomir Georgiev, about what conditions a young girl known as Maria who was found at a Roma camp in Farsala last year would be brought up in if she were taken to Bulgaria.
Bulgaria To Set Up Cultural Police
Bulgaria will set up a police task force, responsible for cultural matter, said Culture Minister Petar Stoyanovich.
It will be similar to Italy's cultural police and its main goal will be combating art theft, treasure hunters and the illegal export of artifacts.
