A theater production for English speakers, "Women of Passion, Women of Greece," returns to the Treno sto Rouf Theater (www.totrenostorouf.gr) in Athens for a run of 10 Saturday shows starting on May 27 and ending on July 29.

A 16-year-old is being treated in hospital for serious head injuries after being hit by a train in central Athens late on Friday.

The 60-minute play, written in English by Eugenia Arsenis, follows the characters of Medea, Maria Callas and Melina Mercouri as they explore their shared passion for love, life and creativity.

An extensive but brief power outage that affected mainly western Athens on Tuesday morning was the result of a human error, said Greece's electricity grid operator ADMIE.
ADMIE said high voltage transmission lines were turned off at 11:35 a.m. at the public power utility's (PPC) substation at Rouf.

Power is expected to be restored soon, according to SKAI TV.

Every Saturday night through April 20, the Railway Carriage Theater (Treno sto Rouf), a music venue housed in an old wooden railway car, is hosting a tribute to Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong, with local act Jazz Express performing numbers popularized by the two jazz greats. Shows start at 9.30 p.m.
