The City of Athens announced on Wednesday it has opened a heated venue where the homeless can warm up during this latest cold snap. The room is located at 66 Sophocleous Street and will remain open until 10 a.m. on December 29, it said.

To Treno Sto Rouf Theater in Athens is hosting the Constantine Cheimarios Quartet in an evening of modern jazz sprinkled with ethnic influences on Wednesday, January 11. The ensemble comprises Yiannis Kassetas (tenor and soprano saxphone), Stathis Paraskevopoulos (contrabass), Christos Tzerpos (percussion) and Constantine Cheimarios (guitar-compositions).

Greek National Opera singers will perform a medley of songs from well-known operettas at To Treno sto Rouf. The program includes pieces by Johann Strauss, Theofrastos Sakellaridis and Franz Lehar, among others. Performances take place on Wednesday, December 21 and December 28, at 9.30 p.m. Admission is set at 12 euros.
