North Iran gets massive snowfall

After months of waiting for the snow to arrive, Tehranis were hit by massive snowfall overnight yesterday that shut airports and schools but delighted the ski community. The capital’s Imam Khomeini International and Mehrabad airports were shut due to poor visibility “until further notice”, state television said.

Seven suspects arrested over alleged links with twin attacks in Tehran

Iranian authorities have arrested seven people suspected of helping militants involved in twin attacks in the capital Tehran, a judiciary official said on June 9. 

Islamic State claimed responsibility for the suicide bombings and gun attacks on parliament and the mausoleum of the Islamic Republic's founder, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, that killed 17 people on June 7.

Iran minister calls Trump’s condolences for attacks ‘repugnant’

 

Iran’s foreign minister on Thursday rejected Donald Trump’s condolences for deadly attacks in Tehran, calling the U.S. president’s words repugnant.

Trump had said he prayed for the victims of Wednesday’s attacks that were claimed by Islamic State, but added that “states that sponsor terrorism risk falling victim to the evil they promote.”

Greece condemns ISIS attack in Iran

Greece on Thursday condemned a deadly attack in Iran claimed by Islamic State, which left 13 dead and more than 40 injured.

"We unequivocally condemn terrorism in all its forms and we express our full support for the people and government of Iran, and our sincere condolences to the victims' families," the Greek Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Foreign Affairs Ministry: No Injured Bulgarian Citizens in Tehran attacks

There is no data about any injured Bulgarian citizens in the attacks on Iran's parliament and Ayatollah Khomeini's shrine in Tehran this morning, Bulgaria's Foreign Affairs Ministry said.

There is no immediate threat to the Bulgarian embassy and its personnel, all necessary measures have been taken to ensure the safety of the staff.
