Galatasaray part ways with Younes Belhanda

Galatasaray announced on March 10 that it parted ways with Younes Belhanda.

The Istanbul side said that they unilaterally canceled Belhanda's contract based on "just reasons."

In a televised post-match interview on BEIN Sports last weekend, the 31-year-old Moroccan player criticized the club due to poor ground conditions at Galatasaray's Turk Telekom Stadium.

Fenerbahçe appeal to federation for pre-1959 titles

Turkish Süper Lig side Fenerbahçe have appealed to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) to add titles to their record before the national league was established in 1959, the club announced on March 6.

Fenerbahçe requested that titles they won before 1959 should be added to the club's total Süper Lig titles.

Fenerbahçe beats Trabzonspor to put troubles on hold

Fenerbahçe beat Trabzonspor 1-0 in a Turkish Süper Lig match on Feb. 28 to keep its title hopes alive, easing the pressure on coach Erol Bulut.

The visiting side's Greek midfielder Dimitris Pelkas scored the winner in the 76th minute when his long-range shot on a counterattack beat Trabzonspor goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır.

Umut Bulut breaks Süper Lig appearance record

Turkish football player Umut Bulut has broken all-time record for Turkish Süper Lig appearance with 504 matches.

Bulut took the pitch in the starting 11 when his club Yeni Malatyaspor hosted Ittifak Holding Konyaspor on Feb. 20.

Yeni Malatyaspor said on Twitter that the club from Turkey's east awarded the veteran striker with a plate to honor him before the Konyaspor match.

Trabzonspor appeals to ECHR to overturn Süper Lig 2011 title

The Black Sea football club, Trabzonspor, has applied to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) to overturn the outcome of the 2010-11 Turkish Süper Lig, in which they finished runners-up, and Istanbul's Fenerbahçe claimed the championship title, the club's website announced on Feb. 16.

Galatasaray topple Kasımpaşa 2-1 amid heavy snowfall

Galatasaray gained three points by beating Kasımpaşa 2-1 on Feb. 14 amid heavy snowfall at the Türk Telekom Stadium in Istanbul.

Kerem Aktürkoğlu gave a 1-0 lead to the Lions in the ninth minute but Isaac Thelin​​​​​​​ scored an equalizer for the away side in the 51st minute.

Galatasaray secured a hard-fought win after Mostafa Mohamed converted the penalty in the 89th minute.

Beşiktaş loses Süper Lig’s top spot

Trabzonspor came from behind to beat Beşiktaş with a 2-1 in an away game on the night of Jan. 31, making the home side lose its top spot in the Turkish Süper Lig standings.

Beşiktaş scored the first goal of the game in the 29th minute when Cameroonian forward Vincent Aboubakar's header beat Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Çakır.
