Pioneer of diplomacy journalism in Turkey dies at age of 93
Prominent Turkish journalist Sami Kohen, who is known as the man "who introduced the foreign news editing to Turkish media," has died at the age of 93 in Istanbul.
Turkish Latin music genius unveils his latest project 'Rockuba'
One of the dying breed of passionate musicians, Emir Ersoy, has unveiled his latest music album "Rockuba," which is his fourth studio work. He mixes the essential tunes of Latin music and rock timbres for his new project that is featuring a number of famous Turkish actors and actresses including Cem Yılmaz, Sarp Apak, Hande Subaşı and Leyla Lydia Tuğutlu.

Intelligence failure questions from a spy chief
Emre Taner ran the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT) from 2005 to 2010. A veteran intelligence officer who had been recruited as a young student in Ankara University, Taner was the one who had proposed and launched a move to establish dialogue with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in 2008-2009.

The rise and fall of a Turkish intelligence officer
Basri Aktepe, a former top officer of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), was arrested on Sept. 7 in Ankara over having alleged links to Fethullah Gülen, the U.S.-based Islamist preacher who is accused by the Turkish government of masterminding the bloody coup attempt of July 15.

Musician Atilla Özdemiro?lu dies at 73
Veteran Turkish musician and composer Atilla Özdemiro?lu died on April 20 at the age of 73 in an Istanbul hospital where he had been receiving lung cancer treatment.
In a career spanning five decades, Özdemiro?lu worked with a number of Turkish groups and singers. He is best known for his award winning film scores in the 1970s and 1980s.

Turkish columnist put on trial for insulting Erdo?an
The trial of prominent Turkish columnist Cengiz Çandar, accused of "insulting" President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an in seven opinion pieces, was opened and immediately adjourned in Istanbul on April 6.
