Flights between Turkey, UK to resume as of June 11
Daily scheduled flights between Turkey and the U.K. will resume as of June 11, the British Embassy in Ankara announced on Twitter.
"Turkish Airlines will operate 1 daily flight from Istanbul Airport to London Heathrow. Anadolu Jet will be operating 1 daily flight from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport to London Stansted," the embassy said.

Ministry releases preliminary report on plane that skidded off Istanbul airport runway
Turkey's Transport and Infrastructure Ministry released a preliminary report, on March 11, on a passenger plane that skidded off the runway at an Istanbul airport last month.

A passenger plane of the Turkish low-cost airline Pegasus skidded off the runway of Sabiha Gokcen International Airport in Istanbul, Turkey, Turkish NTV reported.
There are no dead or injured people. The incident happened at 9.43 am (8.43 am Bulgarian time). For this reason, the airport will not operate for several hours.
Istanbul welcomes nearly 7 million foreign tourists
The number of foreign tourists visiting Istanbul rose by 10.8 percent in the first eight months of this year, when compared to the same period last year, hitting 6.95 million, Culture and Tourism Ministry data has shown.
Turkey sees large rise in air passengers
The number of passengers passing through Turkish airports rose 9.1 percent annually in the first eight months of 2017, the country's airport authority announced on Sept. 7.
Turkish airports served more than 127 million people between January and August, up from 116.5 million in the same period last year, according to the General Directorate of State Airports Authority.

648 detained, 282 arrested in 117 ISIL operations in Istanbul over one year
A total of 648 suspected members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were detained and 282 were later arrested in 117 operations targeting the jihadist group in Istanbul over the past year, according to police data.
Huge anti-narcotics, anti-terror police operation launched in Istanbul
A large-scale operation with the participation of 2,000 police officers from anti-narcotics and anti-terror teams was launched in Istanbul on the morning of March 23.
Checkpoints were established in parts of the city for the operation, called "Kurtkapanı-2," which means Wolf Creek in Turkish.

Some 58 of the total 59 steel sections have been mounted so far, with the last nine-meter-long deck set to be installed on March 4 with a ceremony, according to company sources.
