Sailboat being monitored near area of deadly wreck

A sailboat with about 60 people on board some 100 kilometers off Pylos on Greece's southern coast was spotted on Friday by Italian authorities, who informed their Greek counterparts.

The vessel did not send a distress signal, and was, reportedly, sailing normally.

It was reportedly being monitored by the authorities, according to state broadcaster ERT.

Boats set sail for the first Bosphorus race of the year

More than 40 competitors have participated in the first sailing race of the year on the Bosphorus in Istanbul, one of the most challenging sailing race courses in Türkiye, famous for its strong currents coming from the north.

Organized by Bahçeşehir University for the 11th time this year, the BAU Bosphorus Sailing Cup saw more than 40 sailboats set sail on the strait.

Boosting the blue economy to save the planet

In Greece there is an obvious reason for transporting domestic products by sea under sail and not by motorboats: respect for the environment. The bonus reason - for those doing the transporting - is the magical sea experience. More about the unique Aegean Cargo Sailing project was shared with us by its "soul," Loucas Gourtsoyannis.
