"2 academicians among signatories of 'anti-Darwin' petition"

Several state and educational institutions have received a petition urging a revision of study of the evolution theory in Serbia, a Belgrade daily is reporting.

According to Danas, the "anti-Darwin's theory" petition has been sent to the Ministry of Education, the Council on Education, the Presidency of the Serbian Academy of Science and Art (SANU), and to universities.

SANU head to miss meeting with president on Kosovo

President Tomislav Nikolic will meet on Tuesday with PM Aleksandar Vucic and SPC Patriarch Irinej to discuss the EU's draft platform for chapter 35 on Kosovo.

According to the daily Vecernje Novosti, President of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) Vladimir Kostic is also invited to attend the meeting, to be held at the Serbian Presidency building.

CASS delegation to visit Serbia

BELGRADE - A delegation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) will visit the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) on April 27, SANU released in a statement on Friday.

The CASS has an important advisory role in formulating the national foreign policy determined by the State Council of the People's Republic of China.

Nikolic to attend opening of UNESCO symposium at SANU

BELGRADE - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic will on Wednesday attend the opening of an UNESCO symposium titled Water Management in Transition Countries as Impacted by Climate and Other Global Changes, Lessons from Paleoclimate and Regional Issues, to be held at the Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences (SANU), Nikolic's presidential office said in a statement.
