A British lawmaker from the governing Conservative Party has resigned after admitting he watched pornography on his phone in the House of Commons chamber.

Maybe they reach sexual maturity very young in Scotland. What else could explain the fact that they are going to have another referendum on Scottish independence only three years after the last one?

Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has announced that she will submit a request to Parliament to schedule a new referendum on independence next week.

Before that, however, London's approval is needed and London is adamantly against this.

The threat of a new Scottish independence referendum is creating unnecessary uncertainty and division, a British government spokesman said on Feb. 27, reiterating British Prime Minister Theresa May's view that there was no need for another vote on the issue.

Scottish nationalist leader Nicola Sturgeon said a second referendum on independence was "more likely than not" in the next five years if she wins an election on May 5 as polls predict. 

The pro-independence Scottish National Party (SNP) had said  it would not press for another vote on independence until it was clear most Scots wanted to leave the United Kingdom.

The Scottish National Party (SNP) won a landslide in Scotland on May 8, destroying the Labour party north of the border in a historic leap forward which could increase pressure for a fresh referendum on independence.
