The Croatian security agency has given documents from the Yugoslav secret services to the state archives with a view to giving the public partial access to the classified files for the first time.

Macedonia MPs Monitor Secret Police Amid Opposition Absence

Bulgaria Military Intelligence to Open Up its Communist-Era Archives
Archives of the Defense Information Service (DIS), Bulgaria's military intelligence, are due to be handed over to the Files Commission which deals with documents of the one-time security services.
The data, however, will not include names of foreign agents affiliated to DIS to avoid risks for living agents.
Albania Limits Opening up of Communist-era Files
After 25 years of debate on the subject, Albania's parliament last week approved a law that partially lifts the veil of secrecy on Communist-era secret service files, creating a commission to handle requests for information.

Croatian Dissident Feared Kidnap by Yugoslav Spies
Herta Strossberger, the former lover of Stjepan Djurekovic, the dissident who was murdered in Germany in 1983, testified at the murder trial in Munich on Tuesday that he told her that he was worried that he could be kidnapped by the Yugoslav security agency, UDBA.
