Bulgaria Nationalists Seek Recognition of Bulgarian Genocide in Ottoman Empire

The Patriotic Front (PF), one of the parties supporting the coalition government, called on Friday for support of the declaration on the recognition of a Bulgarian genocide in the Ottoman Empire.

At the end of April, the PF tabled to parliament a declaration for condemning the crimes committed against the Bulgarian people within the Ottoman Empire, BGNES news agency reports.

Parliamentary debates regarding the possible new debt issue of BGN 16 B will be postponed after the majority of MPs voted in favor of the proposal on Thursday.

The proposal came from the leader of nationalist Patriotic Front party, Valeri Simeonov. He added that in order for a decision of that importance to be taken, more clarifications will be needed.
