Natural parks in Turkey's Black Sea Sinop province are among the first choices of those seeking peace and a quiet
environment surrounded by nature.
The natural wonders in the northern Sinop province offer visitors an opportunity to swim in the sea as well as picnic and take hikes in the forest.
Elderly population increases 22 pct over five years
Turkey's elderly population has risen by 21.9 percent over the past five years, according to statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on March 18.
TÜİK stated that the population of people over the age of 65 in Turkey had risen to 7.55 million in 2019, up from 6.65 million in 2014.
German vet student rescues stray dog in Turkey
A German student, who temporarily studied in Turkey under the Erasmus+ program, rescued a stray dog in the Black Sea province of Sinop.
Heidi Peltola, who is studying veterinary in Frankfurt, Germany, came to Sinop last July as part of the Erasmus+, a program by the European Union for young people to live, work and train in foreign countries.

'Alcatraz of Anatolia' hosts 300,000 visitors
Sinop Prison and Museum, which was used as a prison in the northern province of Sinop between 1887 and 1999 and was turned into a museum in 2000, hosted 300,000 visitors last year.

Recreation center for wealthy Romans to be unearthed in Turkey's north
Excavation works have been accelerated to find out more about a bath and its environs under the Byzantine-era church Balatlar in the northern province of Sinop. The site, which has shed light on various eras from the Hellenistic to the Ottoman Empire, is believed to have been used as a recreation center for wealthy Roman people, according to the excavation team.
