Prince Paul of Romania was held by police in Paris on Monday evening after fleeing Romania in the wake of his conviction for corrupt activities related to the illegal restitution of costly real estate near Bucharest.

Four leaders discuss energy in Romania
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras (l to r) join hands after talks at Snagov Palace near Bucharest on Friday. Former president Basescu complains to Government about protocol house
Former president Traian Basescu filed a preliminary administrative complaint at the Government, warning about his intention to appeal to a court if the Executive does not assign a free protocol house for residence and working office, to which he is legally entitled as a former head of state.

Tariceanu: In one year, there can be consensus on a national project
Calin Popescu-Tariceanu, who runs for President as independent with the support of the Liberal Reformist Party (PLR), told a press conference in Tulcea on Friday that in maximum one year's time he would manage to persuade all political forces of Romania to agree to a national project, 'Romania, Europe's Seventh Power,' if elected president.
