According to the government, the first deputy PM and foreign minister spoke at the panel "Mission Possible -Challenges and Solutions for the Energy Transition" of the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue, to point out that the natural gas transport system in Serbia is linear.

The Serbian energy regulator has given final approval for the construction of a branch of the TurkStream pipeline, RT is reporting.

Bulgaria risks encountering the same problems that sank South Stream in its haste to host the planned extension of the TurkStream pipeline into Europe.

Russian Prime Minister Dimitry Medvedev arrived in Sofia on Monday under tight security to meet his Bulgarian colleague, Boyko Borissov, and discuss gas and nuclear energy cooperation.

Bulgaria is considering joining Russia's TurkStream 2 pipeline proposal and, according to the country's Ministry of Energy, is ready to invest €1.4 billion ($1.6 billion) in the project, reported DW. 

The tender for the design, pipe supplier and contractor of the Bulgarian part of Turkish Stream, although formally not completed, has already had a clear winner. According to the Russian business edition RBK, the contract will be won by Dmitry Pumpanski's "Trumpet Metallurgical Company" (TMK).

"The construction of TurkStream is progressing according to plan, and options for extending the transit line of this gas pipeline in the European direction are also being considered," Lavrov said, according to the Russian news agency TASS.

Russian energy giant Gazprom soon starts building infrastructure in Serbia for the Turkish Stream gas pipeline. This was announced by the head of the company Alexey Miller. He was in the Russian delegation headed by President Vladimir Putin, who was visiting Belgrade.

Russian company "Gazprom Export" is ready to buy 90% of Turkish Stream capacity through Bulgaria, it became clear after 19th of December meeting of Bulgaria's Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC), at which the state-run gas transmission operator Bulgartransgaz asked for approval of the project.

Russia is ready to extend the TurkStream natural gas pipeline to Greece, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Dec. 7.
