Katerina Stefanidi and Nikoleta Kyriakopoulou, the two pole vaulters who took gold and silver for Greece at the European Championships in Berlin on Thursday, have dedicated their win to all the people who suffered in last month's deadly fires in Attica.

Former world hurdles champion, Fenerbahçe athlete Bett killed in car crash
Nicholas Bett, a Kenyan runner who won the 2015 world championship title in the 400-meter hurdles, was killed in an early-morning car crash Wednesday in the country's famed high-altitude training region, police and his coach said. He was 28.

Stefanidi wins Athens Street Pole Vault event
Olympic champion Katerina Stefanidi won the 6th Athens Street Pole Vault on Friday, held at Syntagma Square in central Athens, clearing 4.80 meters.
This performance was her best for the season so far, as she had only managed 4.64 m. until Friday.
Stefanidi, also the world champion, tried to break her own national record of 4.91 m. but failed three times to clear 4.92 m.

Olympic vice-champion of the Rio 2016 Demireva finished at 200 centimeters, with her third attempt, and for the first time in her career she overcame the master border.

Ivet Lalova Won the 200m Race in Stockholm
Ivet Lalova won 200 meters of the Diamond Athletics League tournament in Stockholm (Sweden).
The Bulgarian finished in 22.63 seconds, improving with one hundredth of хер strongest result for the season.
The 34-year-old Bulgarian Sprinter had 22.64 seconds to the Diamond League in Rome, where she finished second.
