Marseille-Galatasaray match halted after rivals fans clash
The Europa League game between Marseille and Galatasaray was interrupted for about 10 minutes after rival fans threw flares and firecrackers at each other at Stade Velodrome on Sept. 30.
The match finished 0-0 but pockets of rival fans were fighting inside the stadium more than 30 minutes after the final whistle.
Soccer fans detained for flouting gathering ban
A number of PAOK soccer fans were detained on Monday night in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, for violating restrictive measures on movement, after dozens gathered outside their team's stadium to celebrate the club's 94th anniversary.
Officers who arrived outside the stadium urged fans who were chanting slogans to disperse, but were ignored.

UEFA bans Galatasaray for one year
The top football authority in Europe, UEFA, has banned Turkey's Galatasaray from continental cups for one year after the Istanbul side failed to fulfill the financial fair play requirements.
The ban will be valid from the first year that Galatasaray, now 16 points behind leader Fenerbahçe in the Spor Toto Super League, gains the right to join a European cup.
