Two trams collided on the capital's Hristo Botev Blvd. between Macedonia Square and Alexander Stamboliyski Blvd., bTV reported.
It is still unclear whether there are victims or injured.
Apparently the two passenger vehicles were seriously damaged.
There is a lot of traffic jams.

Plovdiv. Three people were injured in an accident in the paper factory in the area of Stamboliyski, with 57%, 65% and 10% burns, University Hospital St. George in Plovdiv told Focus Radio. Four Cases of Measles Registered During the Weekend in Plovdiv
Four new cases of measles were registered during the past weekend in Plovdiv, Dr Monika Troyancheva from Plovdiv Regional Health Inspection (RHI) told Radio FOCUS - Plovdiv. There are a total of 65 cases registered so far.
"Their number is updated every day, as not all of them are proved for sure," Dr Troyancheva explained.
'Arab' Teenager Stabbed in Downtown Sofia Mall
A 19-year-old has been stabbed by guards in a shopping mall in central Sofia, police say.
The incident supposedly took place around 09:00 local time (EET).
bTV station quotes guards as saying the teenager tried to steal clothes from one of the stores.
The mall itself is located on Aleksandar Stamboliyski Blvd.
