Gov’t asks for bank transaction tax
The Greek government presented to the representatives of the institutions its plan to impose a new tax for bank transactions of 1 per mille in order to avoid new stricter measures and cover the fiscal gap and the gap in social security.

Economy Minister Giorgos Stathakis stressed the need for completing the program review as soon as possible, while he also announced that the government will table the development law in March.
‘Quartet’ leaves without reaching an agreement
The first round of negotiations between Greek government and the representatives of the institutions concluded on Friday without reaching any agreement, while all major issues are still open.

Negotiations between Greek gov’t and institutions’ representatives started
The negotiation talks between the Greek government and the representatives of the institutions have started amidst the protest rallies conducted by most of the labour unions
‘Quartet’ records the deficiencies on Greece’s proposed measures
The representatives of the Institutions question the efficiency of specific fiscal measures and forecast a 1-1.2 billion euros difference in government’s revenue for 2016.
Greece’s lenders reject govt’s proposals on contributions increase
The representatives of the Institutions met at 11 a.m. with Labor Minister George Katrougalos to discuss social security reforms.
Their meeting lasted three hours, while Finance Minsiter Euclid Tsakalotos and Economy, Infrastructure, Shipping and Tourism Minister George Stathakis were also present.
Lenders ‘Quartet’ demands tax law changes
The first meeting between the representatives of Greece’s lenders and the Greek government is concluded.
The ‘Quartet’ will receive Greece’s proposal on the new tax bill tomorrow since it seems that issue was also added in the prior actions for the successful completion of the evaluation.

Negotiation between Greek gov’t and institutions’ mission is in progress
The meeting between Greek government and the representatives of the Institutions started at 17:00 on Monday so as to launch the negotiations on the review of Greece’s economic adjustment program.
The government was represented by Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, Economy, Development and Tourism Minister George Stathakis and Alternate Finance Minister Giorgos Chouliarakis.
