A 28-year-old Italian man was handcuffed by police officers in Mykonos last Saturday afternoon (31/8) for robbery and membership of a criminal organisation.

Police believe the murder had to do with gang-related feuds

Police said on Thursday they had smashed a large drug ring operating in and around Exarchia Square in downtown Athens, leading to the arrest of 13 people.

The gang reportedly comprised some 50 foreign nationals who peddled heroin, cocaine and cannabis in the area, mainly during the evening hours.

The Greek Police (ELAS) said on Friday it had unraveled a criminal gang that stole cars before dismantling them and selling their parts.

Five of the six gang members were arrested on Tuesday during a wide-reaching operation across Attica, while police are still looking for another suspect.

Greek police arrested four men believed to be members of a gang that imported cocaine from Western Europe in trucks.

The suspects, two foreign nationals aged 34 and 38 and two Greeks aged 41 and 50, were arrested on Tuesday in a drug enforcement unit operation in Athens and Arta, a town of western Greece.

Sweeping police raids Monday and Sunday in the area of Amerikis Square in Athens led to the arrest of 28 drug-dealing gang members, all foreign nationals.

The raids were the culmination of a months-long investigation and police said they are looking for another 11 suspects.

Police said on Wednesday they had arrested the 54-year-old mastermind of a cocaine dealing gang after a two-year search.

The suspect had reportedly been dealing cocaine out of a restaurant he co-owns in the upmarket Kolonaki district of central Athens.
