Public sector union holds work stoppage, demo
Greece's public sector union ADEDY has called a three-hour work stoppage across Attica, from noon Wednesday, demanding the rehiring of dismissed public sector workers and the abolition of a mobility scheme mandated by the country's foreign creditors.
The ADEDY protest rally will take place at 1 p.m. in central Klafthmonos Square.

Bulgarian Miners Go On Underground Strike Near Burgas
The workers from Cherno More mine near the Bulgarian city of Burgas have gone on strike again, with over 40 people from the night shift remaining underground on Wednesday.
GSEE labor union claims offices ransacked during sit-in protest
Greeces main private sector union, GSEE, said on Thursday that its offices were ransacked and many items stolen during a sit-in protest by anarchists in support of Nikos Romanos, who ended his hunger strike on Wednesday.
GSEE said that during the six-day protest a number of offices were broken into, office equipment damaged and hard disks stolen.
SYRIZA MP on hunger strike over Syrian refugees, Romanos
Outspoken SYRIZA lawmaker Yiannis Micheloyiannakis (photo, center) announced on Saturday that he was going on hunger strike, citing a series of reasons ranging from solidarity for dozens of Syrian refugees who have been protesting outside Parliament, as well as austerity policies and the governments refusal to grant study furloughs to jailed bank robber and anarchist Nikos Romanos.
Lawyers to begin extended strike action on Monday
Lawyers begin what they have threatened will be extended strike action on Monday in protest at proposed changes to the countrys penal code.
Last week, 93 percent of some 23,000 lawyers nationwide who participated in a vote rejected the new legislation and demanded that the Justice Ministry withdraw it from Parliament.

Greek air traffic controllers say they will join Thursday's general strike
Greek air traffic controllers said on Monday that they will take part in Thursdays general strike, which is likely to lead to disruption at the countrys airports.
The strike has been called by Greeces main private sector union, GSEE, and public sector group ADEDY. Greek media are set to strike a day earlier to ensure that the rally on Thursday is covered.
No Greek ferry services on Nov 27 as sailors join strike
The Panhellenic Seamens Union (PNO) said on Wednesday that it would join a general strike on November 27 by the countrys two main labor unions, ADEDY and GSEE, meaning that ferries will remain moored across the country on that day.
PNO objects to the governments tax policy and is pressing for the signing of a new collective labor contract.

BELGRADE -- Education sector workers in Serbia have been striking since Monday by cutting classes to 30 from 45 minutes.
This has been taking place in those schools where four trade unions have their representatives, Jasna Janković of the Association of Trade Unions of Education Workers told Tanjug on Monday.
