Sumatra earthquake

A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the northern coast of Crete on Monday morning, according to a preliminary reading of the Athens Geodynamic Institute.
The tremor's epicenter was 68 kilometers north of Agios Nikolaos and was at a depth of 55.2 kilometers.

6.2 magnitude earthquake on the Richter Scale was registered on the west coast of Canada, the US Geological Survey reported. The earthquake was felt  in the morning at 4:30 am central gurney time.

A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck on Monday (Nov 13) off the east coast of northern Japan at 6.24am (Singapore time), according to the US Geological Survey (USGS), quoted by channelnewsasia.com

The quake hit 294km southeast of the city of Kamaishi at a depth of 9.5km.

USGS had initally recorded a magnitude of 6.1, but later downgraded it to 5.8.

An earthquake with a revised magnitude of 4.5 has hit the western island of Zakynthos, but no damage has been reported, reported ekathimerini.com

The Athens Institute of Geodynamics reported that the temblor struck at 1:49 p.m. (1149 GMT) Sunday. The epicenter was 16 kilometers (10 miles) east of Zakynthos and the depth was 23.2 kilometers (14.4 miles).

An earthquake with a revised magnitude of 4.5 has hit the western island of Zakynthos, but no damage has been reported.

A 4.3-magnitude earthquake rattled the Ionian island of Zakynthos at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday, according to the Geodynamic Institute in Athens.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The tremor struck 67 kilometers off the island capital at a depth of 2.4 kilometers. The island was hit by a powerful 6.4-magnitude quake last October.

The United States Geological Survey reports a preliminary magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck near Tarauaca, Brazil on Saturday.

The quake hit at 2:25 PM local time at a depth of 575 kilometers.

 A major earthquake with a magnitude of 7.4 struck off Russia's sparsely populated far east on Thursday, but officials said the threat of a tsunami had passed and no damage was reported.

The confirmed death toll from an earthquake and tsunami on Indonesia's Sulawesi island has risen to 1,234, according to a statement of the national disaster mitigation agency on Oct. 2.

According to the US Geological Survey, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 hit the eastern Indonesian province.

At the moment there are no reports of damage or casualties from the earthquake. The earthquake hit at a depth of 10 km about 100 km southeast of Kupang, capital of the province of East Nusa Tenggara.
