During a specialised operation on Friday, Bulgarian authorities busted a printing house for the production of counterfeit EUR 100 banknotes.

The operation was conducted by police officers from the regional directorates of the interior ministry in Pleven and Veliko Tarnovo as well as officials of the State Agency for National Security (DANS) and Europol.

The owner of a Bulgarian company operating a ferry between Svishtov (Bulgaria) and Zimnicea (Romania) has complained of corruption resulting in losses of an average of EUR 40 000 a month for Bulgaria.
