The Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office on April 13 demanded 15 years in jail for the former prosecutor of a controversial National Intelligence Agency (MİT) trucks case on charges of "membership to a terrorist organization," state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he welcomes the US strike on Syria, but believes it isn't sufficient. He has also called for a no-fly zone to be set up over Syria.

A Syrian air force pilot who bailed out as his warplane crashed in Turkish territory last month has been arrested for allegedly engaging in "border violation" and "spying activities," following his treatment at a hospital in the border province of Hatay, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on April 7.

Turkey sent a report to the United Nations just before a U.N. Security Council meeting to address accusations that the Syrian government staged a chemical weapons attack on April 4, stating that the gas used in the attack was chlorine gas. 

Turkey has blocked some military training and other work with NATO "partner countries" in an apparent escalation of a diplomatic dispute with EU states, officials and sources said on March 15.

President Vladimir Putin hailed close ties between the Russian and Turkey militaries as he welcomed Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan for Friday’s talks focusing on Syria.

Turkey will allow the family of a Syrian air force pilot whose warplane crashed on Turkish territory to visit him at the hospital where he is being treated, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım told private broadcaster A Haber on March 6.
