Taşköprü District

Mysterious canyon yet undiscovered

A canyon with city walls, caves and tunnel entrances is yet undiscovered in the western Black Sea province of Kastamonu's Taşköprü district. Stating that there may even be an underground city under the canyon, Kastamonu University lecturer Hikmet Haberal said that the region should be explored and brought into tourism.

Unique rock tombs disappear

The 2,700-year-old rock tombs in the northern province of Kastamonu's Taşköprü district, which are unique in Türkiye, are disappearing due to neglect.

The rock tombs, which are located in Donalar village, feature animal figures from many civilizations that make them unique in the country.
