Two Serbian Army members die in car crash in north
The Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that two members of the Serbian Army had died in a car crash that took place earlier in the day near Feketic.
The victims are Lt. Col. Igor Veselinovski, commander of the 17th Mechanized Battalion based in Backa Topola, and Mico Ivancevic, a civilian employed by the same unit.

Daccord: Serbia as region's leader in solving difficult situations
Discovering the fate of the missing persons is an issue to which Serbia attaches great importance.

Famous actor Ljubisa Samardzic died in Belgrade at the age of 81 after a serious illness, Belgrade media reported.
He spent almost a month at the hospital treatment at the Clinical Center of Serbia, at the Department of Hematology, because his health condition was extremely bad.

Serbia set to get gender equality law
After two years of drafting and an early withdrawal from procedure, Serbia should get a new law on gender equality this fall, Beta has reported.
One of its provisions will be 40-percent quotas for women in state bodies of administration and leadership, Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Zorana Mihajlovic announced on August 23.

Serbians join Russians for Western Military District drill
Members of the Serbian Army's 37th Mechanized Battalion have taken part in a tactical live fire exercise held in Russia's Western Military District.
The Serbian Ministry of Defense announced this on Thursday, specifying that Serbian troops took part in the Russian military drill launched on August 6 as the only foreign participants.
